bigbasket 8.40.0 for Android

bigbasket 8.40.0 is the Android app of Bigbasket.com, an online grocery service. You can browse fruit, vegetables, dairy, staples and household products, add them to a basket and choose a delivery slot to your address. The app is free, and you can download bigbasket for Android from Google Play; availability depends on whether the service delivers to your area.

Who bigbasket is for

The app suits households that want to save the weekly trip to the market or supermarket: working families, people without a car, older relatives who find carrying heavy bags difficult, and anyone who prefers to plan purchases in advance. Ordering from a list makes impulse buying less likely and lets you compare brands and pack sizes at leisure. Regular items can be reordered in a few taps, which makes restocking staples such as rice, oil or cleaning products quick. Quick deliveries of smaller orders suit last-minute needs, while scheduled slots are better for a full weekly shop. The service is aimed at customers in the regions where Bigbasket.com operates, so check coverage for your address before you plan around it. People who like to pick fresh produce by hand may prefer to keep buying vegetables in person and use the app for packaged goods.

Payments and safety

• Pay only inside the app or on the official website.
• Be wary of messages or calls promising refunds or prizes; they are a common scam around shopping apps.
• Never share one-time passwords with anyone who calls you.
• Review saved payment methods and remove those you no longer use.

Saving money and time

Build a list of items you buy every week and reorder from it instead of browsing each time. Compare the price per kilo or litre rather than the pack price, and check offers before checkout. Choosing a delivery slot when you are sure to be home avoids failed deliveries and perishable goods waiting outside.

Privacy

The app needs your address and phone number to deliver. Location access helps find your address but can be granted only while using the app. Check notification settings if promotional messages become too frequent.
